How to get dog hair out of carpet

Carpet grabs and holds pet hair that vacuums skim right over. Raking it loose first is the trick.

Rake it loose first

A rubber broom builds static that lifts embedded hair to the surface where a vacuum can grab it. Pull toward you in short strokes.

Then vacuum slowly

Go slow in overlapping passes with a pet vacuum — speed leaves hair behind. Do edges and corners with a tool.

Stop the buildup

Regular short sessions beat rare deep cleans. A robot vacuum keeps hair from ever embedding.
